Announcing the Summer Disc Swap Theme: Battle Cries!
The theme for our Summer Disc Swap is all about Battle Cries - A compilation of songs that you listen to to get you motivated! Pre-Race, to find motivation, your workout playlist, or something to get you into the mood and motivated!
- Sign-up Deadline: May 30th, 2026
- Guidelines:
- Discs should be in SP format for compatibility across players.
- Feel free to use any disc, from simple Sony Neige models to rare finds—it’s entirely up to you!
- Commitment: By participating, you commit to covering postage fees (including possible international shipping), ensuring tracking for your disc, and dedicating time and resources to this swap. I have come up with a plan to allow for international participation given the current situation in the US in regards to some countries not allowing packages to be sent using their postal system to send packages to the US. You will be asked specific questions that are required. There will be three pools of participants for the swap. I will ensure that everyone is matched according to what they are able to commit to.
- Assignments will be made by June 15th, 2026 - please begin in earnest on your disc when you sign up!
- Postmark Deadline: All discs should be postmarked by July 1st, 2026.
- Shipping Tip (US only): Save on domestic postage by using USPS Media Mail at your local post office—just bring a disc or player to show that it qualifies!
- Creative Labeling: Get as creative as you like with labeling! A simple handwritten label is also absolutely fine.
- Optional Extras: Some participants include a small token from their region/country—this is optional but appreciated.
- Verified Signup: Email verification is required for signup. (This has proven necessary due to signups who ghost the process after sign up. However, ghosting still happens.)
I’m dedicated to ensuring everyone receives a disc—if someone can’t, I’ll personally cover it as a last resort to maintain the community’s spirit. Let’s keep the tradition going strong!
SideSwaps and Extra Connections
Beyond the main swap, some of us like to do “SideSwaps”—extra copies for trades outside the main event. These can be exciting and allow you to share more discs, but they’re optional and at your own discretion. Please arrange SideSwaps on the platform of your choice by making your intentions known there.
I’ve made many wonderful connections in the MiniDisc community through these swaps, and each new playlist or piece of artwork is a joy to receive. The best part? The excitement of finding that disc in your mailbox—it truly brightens my day.

1. After registration has closed, a hand created verification email will be sent to you to which you must reply to or be dropped from the swap. PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK ALL SPAM , JUNK MAIL, PROMOTIONAL, SOCIAL, & UPDATES FOLDERS FOR THIS HAND CREATED EMAIL!
NOTICE WILL BE GIVEN OF IT BEING SENT ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS! MDCon has changed email servers to one that is not blacklisted. The emails will be sent from DiscSwap (at) MDCon.Live
2. It is a requirement to notify MDCon by replying to your assignment email once received.
3. It is a requirement to send your shipment and tracking information to MDCon once sent! You accept this responsibility by signing up!
Note: Tracking numbers for discs are not automatically distributed to recipients. Overdue discs will be handled at MDCon's discretion and replacements sent out when enough time has passed at MDCon's discretion.

Organizer's Note: These swaps are ran by hand for the enjoyment of doing so. If you wish to program a swap using your coding skills and your resources, please feel free! I would not view it as competition but increased opportunity for the community! There is always something I can learn by other's examples.
