I use WMD.Pro as my Media Player on my computer as well as for disc creation and editing. One day I thought of something that would be helpful in the track info display area and thought to bring it up with Asivery the lead developer of WMD.Pro.
I can't remember exactly what feature I thought might be helpful now, because Asivery over-delivered on the request. If you look at the graphic above, you will see where the track number and name are listed. He added many features to the area that go unnoticed in my opinion. That is a progress bar above the track number and name indicating how far along the track you are.
Now, where he ran away with my idea, if you click on the track area with your mouse, it will cycle though different display modes just as if you hit display on the remote!
- Track Number and Title
- Elapsed / Total Track Time
- Track Remaining Time
There are many in this community who will take an idea and run with it. Maybe they see it as a personal challenge, maybe they see the benefit it will bring to the community at large in the form of usability. Asivery's work on WMD.Pro and RH10 display replacement kits, Sir68k's work on RH1 firmware and replacement screens, Eddie Chan's Billet Aluminum Disc, SpecialK's creation of the Wiki and the the community's collective work on it. I cannot name all because I am unaware of everything done by the community.
MDCon came about because I saw and collected ideas from others and saw them as a challenge. In my 58 years I have developed an eclectic set of skills which made me think that MDCon was something I could make happen. I toiled away at it in obscurity before I made my intentions known to anyone else.
These individuals who increase your experience are sometimes unsung heroes by some. The true extent of their sacrifices known to few. Some are hard to reach to express thanks to, you may have to work to do it. Sometimes they make opportunities in which you can purchase something or donate to express your interest and thanks and derive utility from it for yourself!
